Default Strut brace help./....

Yeah I know it may not do much but it's shineeeeey ....

Anyways bought one yesterday from Scooby Live for my 06/07 Hawkeye STI but although the holes line up there is a pipe getting in the way.

Can anyone who's fitted one before let me know what I should be doing.

(tried searching but it's not working for me for some reason)

Cheers

I had this same problem and decided not to fit my old one.
Some have managed to fit a brace by bending the line, but as its a rigid pipe for the AC, I didn't feel like risking it.

I had one fitted by RCM last week and it looks like they have just bent the pipe work clear. I could try and take some better close up photos if that would help….

I had the same problem. Seems common for the hawkeyes. I also decided to take mine back and not fit it. That AC pipe is not meant to be moved IMHO. Fixed pipe shape and attached to the bulkhead.

If you do fit it, get someone who knows what they are doing to help or it could be very costly!

Fitted my Perrin top brace on Friday and yes you do need to bend the A/C pipe on a Hawkeye not by a great deal. I had to take the bracket of completly that hold's it to the bulkhead and then carefully persuade it into the position I wanted and l have just left the bracket off.

Mikkel missed you at the shootout but nice motor mate

Cheers mate. Were you in the convoy? I didn't know what you were driving besides it being a hawker so couldn't look out for you. Next event or meet I'll try and catch ya to see how you have fitted the brace mate.

Have you got it on yet? I couldn't wait the brace went straight on when I got home in the pouring rain. Don't know if it has made much difference, I'll see on a B road blast this weekend. Even if it doesn't still looks nice and shiney.

Not quite I tried as soon as I got home as well but didn't want to break anything and this aircon pipe was in the way.

Looked at it again last night and it'll go but it's a very tight fit and requires a leap of faith as far as bending the pipe goes.

Hopefully will fit it tonight,,.. .. .. maybe
