View Full Version : will a turbo engine go in a sport? pimmles1 25 May 2008, 18:55 hi folks new to the site, i have an impreza sport 2000 classic facelift but want a turbo, would i be able to get a n reg classic impreza turbo engine fitted into my sport? or am i just being daft? AndiThompson 25 May 2008, 18:58 It's not just the engine that different, the gearbox, the diffs, the suspension, the brakes. Better to sell the sport and buy a turbo. badgerface123 25 May 2008, 19:01 hi ive seen this asked before and basically u would be mental to start as the cost would be huge...changing wiring loom....uprating brakes...ect...ect sell ur sport and buy a turbo there some real bargains about due to credit crunch, fuel costs and mr g brown ect eversham 26 May 2008, 19:58 dont do it go buy one and save yourself time and money loony toon 27 May 2008, 13:59 Can be done but as already mentioned not worth the hassle !!! New engine and gearbox along with diffs etc new ecu and engine loom ( only bit that needs to be changed ) new fuel system brakes will need upgrading it will be cheaper to sell and buy a new one unless you were planning a track car then you would strip down and build back up with uprated everything anyway tony Flo555 28 May 2008, 15:50 Hello, search for my name I had opened a thread about my car.
