Not so much a DIY job as a request!

Anybody if the South Yorkshire area would like to give me a (bargain) price and come and do it for a fellow Scooby owner? :D

Dead easy to do yourself and only takes about ten minutes - all you need is a drill and a jigsaw.

Assuming its not glass your fitting it into ( in which case you would need a specialist ) the panels on upvc doors are only foam in the middle with either thin plastic or metal sheet on either side.

Use the template that comes with the flap to drill 4 holes at the corners big enough to fit the jigsaw blade into and cut ( in a straight line ! ) from one hole to the next, pop out the cut out part and fit the cat flap.

If you really cant do it yourself, look in your local free paper for a general handyman as this should be the cheapest person to do it, and shouldnt cost more than £20 - £30 at the most.

I started out going to have a go myself.

But a Mate who is Mr DIY (as well as a construction manager) didn't fancy it which set me wondering. On another forum I'm on I was strongly advised not to do it myself!

Having said that, even though fitting looks easy enough, I'm not the best DIYer around by any stretch :D

Ask at double glazing repair places.

The panels come out, and are fairly easy to work on...........

Did mine myself, took about ten minutes with a drill and a jigsaw as per the instructions above :D

Dog rammed his head through it now though and broke it :lol1:

No real need to remove the panel , On some UPVC Doors this would be the hardest part of the job

Mark it out in place , Just make sure the doors locked when firing up the jigsaw :D

Stihl saw is a lot quicker than a jigsaw

lol at some of the comments. :D

Personally I'd rather cut the cat up than damage a door, but that's whole different thread!
