Yea you have the wrong offset, you should have 48's on your car, you have widened your track by 6mm.

Your wheels would be better suited to a 22b as they run 45's

Used to have the same problem on my MY99 Wagon, ended up having the rear arches pulled out by a Custom Bodyshop to stop the rubbing. Now running 225/40/18 with no problems even with it lowered by 40mm. Where abouts are you based ?

Aren't all these tyre sizes quoted for newage fitment?

Combination is wrong. You can push things a bit in some ways but not all together.

Typical 17 for an Impreza has a 48-52mm offset. 45 is a bit low and the wheels will stick out more from the arches.

Classic Imprezas run 17s with 205/45 tyres which are 10mm narrower than the newage 215/45 tyres. They also add a percentage to the radius.

Conclusion... You might get away with running 205/45s on your rims but really you need wheels with a greater offset.

IMO take them off the car NOW and start shouting at the vendor that sold them to you.
