I pick up my new Astra Sportive "run-a-round" on monday night but the van is absolutely caked in decals. It was an electricans van / advertising board and now I obviously need to remove the sign writing from it.

Anyone got any tips for making my life easier ?

I know I ll need to get my hairdryer out :D to soften the glue but is there any product out there i can use to help ?

And once its eventually all off Im assuming the paint under the graphics is going to be whiter than the rest of my van so what can I use to bring it all back to the same colour ??

Cheers chaps :D

As you mentioned using a hairdryer to soften the glue then carefully peel away the graphics. Use something like AS Tar Remover and let the product work for 60 seconds or so and remove residue with a MF. Once your surface is clean plus washed and clayed your best results will come from a machine polishing session.

:lol1: No worries. MF=Microfibre Towel.

Your best results are going to come from a good polish (something like Menzarna Intensive Polish) via a german applicator pad which will provide some cut. Remember and top off your efforts with a half decent wax for durability :thumb:

If you need any other info just shout :D PS Polished Bliss has all of the above.

Does it have to be german  :D

Cheers for your help thus far :D . . .Its only an astravan but would be nice to get the whole van looking nice (and all the same colour) once the signwriting is removed.
