Default changing pads on MY05 STI

Can you replace the pads while the caliper is in postion...... or do you have to take off the caliper complety then replace the pads.

what the quickest way... on my top caliper bolt that holds it on the disc bit wont move.... any ideas.

or is it simple remove the wheel
Remove the anti rattle spring
Remove the spring that holds the 2 locating pins in
Remove the 2 locating pins
Gently ease the old pads out and push back the pistons
Clean up the whole brake caliper using brake cleaner
Reassembly's the reverse of the above, ensuring to take any anti-squeel shims of the old pads and fit them to the new. Make sure that there is copper grease smeered on the back of the pads, this prevents squeeling later on.

Or do i have to undo both main bolts that hold the caliper in position??

cheers

no need to undo the main caliper bolts, its bsically as you describe with the removal of the top pins that hold the pads in place.............

Just one thing to add to the format above..............

Undo the brake fluid filler cap to make pushing pistons back easier, and use a towel or similar to soak up any over spill.
