Just realised i've not posted anything for a while, so a few from the other weekend at the superbikes, had a bit of a mare when my 40D broke first thing so had to revert to the 20D......plus i had a massive hangover, so my panning wasn't quite up to scratch :lol1:

All great shots , can't believe you're saying your panning isn't up to scratch!
Also can't believe these guys manage to accelerate out of corners as they do with so little tyre contact with the road - mental.

Also love the last shot - makes a nice change from the usual totty shots on the grid :norty:

Some cracking pics there Kev. I especially like the second pic from the top where you can see the whites of the rider's eyes!

Nice pics :)

Im off to Silverstone end of June for F1 Practice but as a noob not expecting to get anything near that lol. Prefer bikes in photos though.

BTW what lens were you using for the bike pics?

Thanks,
Simon

Hi, Great pics. What setting are you using?

I've only gone missing as this was the first round i've been to since the season finished last year :D Although saying that, i did do the motorcross at Donington a few months ago, might post some of those soon, was something different to do.

Lens is the Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS, most of those are with the Kenko 1.4 convertor too! Settings wise, i tend to stick to shutter priority, AI servo for focusing and go for 250th sec or there abouts and set the ISO so i get around f8 just to make sure the front and back of the bike/car is in focus and incase the focusing is slightly off. Still only get maybe 10-15 good shots from the thousands i shot :wonder: would get more but it gets busy for the main races and panning isnt easy with people standing next to you or infront of you...unless of course you stick to one spot all day and get there at silly o'clock to get a good spot, but i prefer to roam a bit so have to make do with being a couple back from the front especially at places like Oulton where you're so close to the track that people line the barriers.

Cool. I thought you might have something like a 400. Ive got the F4 non-IS L and think I might just have to get a 1.4x extender before I go to Silverstone next month. I was thinking the Canon but its 3 times the price and those pics are fine via the Kenko.

I was a bit worried about the kenko when i first got it, i think the key is to keep the f stop up to make them sharp, i'm just a little concerned it buggers up the focusing a little. And you're right about needing a convertor for Silverstone, you'll be quite a distance away and more than likely behind a fence, don't go with the 2x though as my mate has the same lens with a 2x kenko and has to tape pins up to get it to work and has loads of issues with it then.

Great pic's!

Love the way you can see the guys fighting the front wheel down as all the bike wants to do is fly in every gear!

You have now made me think i should go back to bikes:norty:

Thanks:( :thumb:
