hello all, this is my second post so please bear with me. lol.
i got a new set of front pads for my 04 version 8 sti impreza from scoobyworld and i am wondering if i should use the shims from the old pads ?
they dont fit on the pad as well as they did with the originals. and since fitting them there is a clonking noise every time you go from forward motion to reverse when you brake for the first time. im just wondring if this is the cause of it.
any ideas folks ?

Hi, mate you can fit the shims from the old pads, bear in mind when you fit new pads to Brembo,s they do klunk when going from reverse to forwards and from forwards to reverse, Every time I've fitted new pads they do this and after about a month it settles down.

very many thanks. so is it ok for it to be doing this then? i just like making sure.

why does it do it tho?
thankyou muchly.
I'm not entirely sure but my old Cupra R had Brembo's on the front and that did the same if not worse, I guess they make the pad so it doesn't stick in the carrier but once it's upto temp and bedded in a little it becomes tighter in the carrier. I wouldn't worry mate.
