Default Stripped Thread Gold STi Brembo Calipers

Just come to fit new tarox japan sport discs and pagid RS421 black pads on my 05 STi and both front and o/s rear calipers have ruined bolt threads on calipers ??? anyone had this problem before and do i have to buy new calipers??? or anyone got any ideas. thank you.

Have them machined for heli-coils or nut-serts mate.

They will be stronger than new with helicoils.

Same problem with my AP's - any decent garage will be able to sort this out for you cheaply - maybe a performance orientated garage best? - certainly should be cheap to sort

when i put the pf discs and pads on the front of my v5 sti i found one of the threads had stripped. got it sorted with a helicoil, just make sure you get the correct threaded one., i got the wrong one so had to get 2 new bolts.

just had mine off at the weekend the bottom nut on the drivers side was a bas**d to get off when i eventually got it out it had stripped the threads from the caliper.took it to my local engineers and they put me a steel insert in cost me 15 quid now its good as new.

Any decent engineering place, or small machine shop will sort it for you for a few quid.

It's funny where all going thru the same prob as tried to change all my discs and pads last week. Fronts done no probs the NS rear bolts sheared. Managed to get the caliper of and now getting the sheared bolts drilled out. Must not put any cooper slip on them at the factory when assemblying.
