corradoboy 08 May 2008, 19:44 Clean the wheels then use Meguiars Hot Wheels. Back to black wheel arches. Do tyres with Endurance Tyre Shine.
Wet car with hose, two buckets, lambswool mitt, Meguiars shampoo, rinse mitt between each panel, hose off after doing top, hose again after doing bottom, dry off with a couple of waffle weave microfibre towels,
or leave wet and Clay Bar using Quick Detailer spray and Meguiars Clay Bar, then quick wash and rinse again, dry with towels.
Meguiars ScratchX used with a foam pad if there are any swirls, then two layers of Meguiars NXT, buffing each layer with a couple of microfibre towels.
Polish glass inside and out, then vac interior and silicone spray the dash.

Could always go shopping on clean and shiny.
ScoobyDriverWannabe 08 May 2008, 20:38 Dont bother wasting much time on mine no more, within a couple of hours it will be covered in bird s***e again, so need too do it once a week at least.
Just a case of going over it with a soapy sponge then rinse it off with the hose pipe.

Define expensive??,mind you i may be wasting me time anyway as i`d only be recommending products ya can buy online so chances of getting them for the wkend are slim.

Odds on 08 May 2008, 23:31 This 2 bucket thing. Is that not a bit over the top? Surely all the grit sinks to the bottom. :wonder:
Unless you rinse your glove/sponge by rubbing it on the bottom of the bucket, it's a bit pointless isn't it?
Can someone explain the benefits?

Mate, what you and your mates from DW do in the privacy of your own home is of no concern to the good people of SN :)

Yeah but I don't use it to clean my anus! :p

sal told me you were too much of a tight yorkshireman to have a colonic, so you did it DIY
slimnotshady 09 May 2008, 11:28 Hose down and get rid of any mud/grit/dust with one of those car cleaning brushes, or brush from dustpan/brush set works well.
Then a couple of capfulls of Mer in a bucket of warm water to clean whole car. Shammy if required. No need to break a sweat with polish if you use Mer in every wash.
For the interior, Groom is the cats arse for vinyl and upholstery.
Both products available from Halfrauds- well they were when I bought 'em a couple of years ago.
I use some aerosol alloy wheel cleaner for the wheels, at least I did until it went missing shortly after we cleared the garage out. B*stard.
Slim
PS DIY colonic? Coffee enama is cheap and effective, but be sure to use a decent filter coffee, you'll do yourself a mischief with Mellow Birds.
PSS Don't use Morning Fresh to clean your car, washing up liquid has salt in it to soften the water!

Can someone explain the benefits?Totally agree waste of time (imo) i just rinse car with hose/pressure washer if really mucky- wash with a microfibre sponge/meguiars shampoo plus in one bucket :thumb: rinse car after, then ..........leather off with an autoglym aqua dry leather-shocking behaviour i know-no need for no snow foam/2 bucket method blah blah.
Aint like someones gonna notice i dont use snowfoam/2bucket method-dont see benefits of either so dont use em just takes ya longer to do ya car-not for me.
