Default Brake dust gone rusty on body work!

Recently fitted some race pads for a track day. It rained during the day and the dust has clung to the body and now turned to rust.
I need some sugestions on how to remove it.

I dont want to start polishing it if im going to grind the corrosion into the laquer.

I have also tried in a descreet area using some wonder wheels alloy wheel cleaner which seems to disolve rust on the calipers when ive used it in the past. This worked well but obviously this is quite nasty stuff and dont want to make the paint any worse than it already is!

Anyone got any good ideas?

Cheers Steve.

Your alloy wheel cleaner should be fine, i'd dillute a little though with water, Its the same as fallout remover that is an acid based product.

Default claybar

an agressive claybar will do the trick, speak to polished bliss or cleanyourcar.co.uk

Hmm, nasty one. You ideally need an acid to break the chemical bond holding the particulates in place. As suggested above, some wheel cleaners will work no doubt, and are safe enough for use on bodywork in extreme cases like this (if you think about it, you normally use such products on painted rims, so no real difference). However, Wonder Wheels is a strong beast, and diluting it a little would be wise. After chemically removing the bulk of it, follow up with a a clay bar to ensure complete removal, and then rewax or reseal asap.
