Default Correct fitment of grooved discs ?

Which is the correct way round to fit grooved discs, grooves facing forwards or rearwards ?

I fitted a set of Graham Goode discs to mine at the weekend along with Sti 4 pots, carbone lorraine RC5 pads and braided hoses.

I fitted them with the grooves facing forwards as they didn't have any markings on them but I saw another scoob earlier that had them fitted the other way

Any ideas ?

Always fitted mine with the inner end of the groove passing through the pad first so facing bkward if ya like.

Thats how I mark mine up to be fitted , it doesn't affect performance which way round there fitted , if you have the inside of the groove going through the pad first , it drags the dust outwards.

The AP discs are fitted that way round as the viens / vents in the centre of the discs are curved and curve the opposite way to the grooves , on that disc the way the vents go are more important than the way the grooves go.

Thats from someone else in the know

it varies from manufacturer dependant mainly on wether the internal cooling vanes are straight or directional.............on most run of the mill discs they are straight so makes no difference, but on mainly race type rotors they need to be fitted as instructed
