i'm looking to get some upgraded speakers to match my new alpine system.
looking for some that will still go in the original door settings.
suggestions?

At that price range you could lookk at DLS Reference, Rainbow SLC and others - have a look on here:

You would probably need to amp these to get the best out of them, also sound deaden the doors or you won't get the best out of the speakers.

Most of these will fit in the original locations but you will need to build an MDF baffle for the mids - not a big job.

Along these lines. I have chosen to go for Infinity 6020cs components for the front. I dont know what to do for the back. Components again or just some Coax?

Can anyone suggest an amp for this setup? Plus, would an amp be ok under my driver's seat as I currently have my cd changer under the passenger seat.

I am in the process of fitting Genesis Profile 4 under the passenger seat, to run off an Alpine 9887r headunit and driving 6020cs in the front, which I will probably upgrade in the future. Going fine so far, you do have to run a power cable direct from the battery though. The Genesis is nice and small and fits fine, I bought it second hand. Alpine do some nice ones which are very small, quite pricey though. I can't remember the model number.

Really, don't bother with the rears, and certainly not components. All they do is drag down the quality of the fronts, and you can't fit anything decent in the back doors.

Aye, as escott says, amp anything for sure. You'll probably get more out of sticking an amp on standard drivers, in deadened doors than you would out of just lunking £200 at components and running them from the HU internal amp. Due to taking quite a bit of time to get my front drivers in (mw160's) I was running stock speakers(my97) from a genesis st100 for a while, in deadened doors, phenomenal improvement over Alpine HU. They eventually got kicked to bits but this spurred me into getting the Dyn's in.

My choice would be the DLS's for drivers

Rears are for metal work, and drivers for sub frequencies only e.g eD8's.
