P1 Trackstar check
Hi,
I got my P1 back in mid novemeber, and signed up for the lifetime subscription (24hr monitor etc..) for Trackstar (gonna be keeping it for a long time yet!
.
I phoned up the trackstar centre and ask them whether or not they could tell me where/when my car was at the mo, and they said they'd ring me back with an answer.. I got a call from an engineer saying that their systems wasn't getting a response back.. and he said that a service/diagnostics was needed, booked a time for an engineer to come down..
The nice and helpful engineer came this morning to check the unit, and said it didn't go over to the 24hr monitor mode, when initially setup, so he replaced the unit and also upgraded the software revision (latest is v4.6 at the mo). The old unit was 4.3.
Just to let other P1 owners and other RAC Trackstar owners to make sure that the unit is working, as no-one would want to find out the hard way, and not get their scooby back.
The RAC Trackstar centre (pretty helpful) should be able to give you a location of the car over the phone, best to check this every now and again.
cheers

Tin,
Thanks for the advice - I've got a Trackstar (but not a P1 sadly).
Was wondering how to check on its operation. It's easy with Navtrak, just forget to arm and drive. But trackstar a bit more difficult, unless you've got lots of big mates, or a long straight hill.
Will give this a wizz
