redrocketjim 19 February 2008, 22:59 Too be honest i saw ths bike late last year and hated it but the race pic looks  it will be a very good riding bike if anything like the past blades
Sheepsplitter 20 February 2008, 07:55 I didn't like it either from the pictures, but saw one 2 weekends ago at a dealers, and it was much better in the flesh.
Seen Fastbikes early review of it and seems like it would be a fantastic road bike.
I usually change my bike after 3 years, so might be tempted. I simply can't go for a 3rd GSXR1000 (had K1 and now K6).
Also under a lot of pressure from the Mrs as she has the CBR600RR, an S2000, and I drive a Civic-TypeR, and shes wanting to be an all Honda family :-)
Must say I thought build quality was miles better than Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawasaki.
Decisions, decisions......
Pudders69 20 February 2008, 09:13 i think that mush is a grower, makes up for it with that arse.
Pud
p.s. somehow that repsol paint job doesn't sit well on it imho

fbladerrv900 20 February 2008, 19:26 Cant beat honda build budy, but its allways on the boring side, speaking from my experiences:thumb:

That is one hellish colour scheme....
Bravo2zero_sps 22 February 2008, 09:08 That design is just plain wrong :o The race one looks ok but that's because the rear is lifted up ont he paddock stand. Drop it down and it wil look just as awful at the Repsol one, a high front end and a really low/non existant rear end which looks hideous. Not the shape a sports bike should be. (Dont doubt it's an incredible machine in terms of performance though).
Sbradley 22 February 2008, 17:00 Hmmm. Looked at it last night and it really does look way better in the flesh, I think perhaps because of the angle - you're looking down at it slightly, get on the same level (where the photos usually come from) and it doesn't look as good.
But the proof will be in the riding, and I'm looking forward to an extended test on it in the next couple of weeks. After all, you can't see what it looks like from the saddle...

MattOz 25 February 2008, 14:52 I posted this on another site, but here's my take on the new Blade.
"Went to my local Honda dealer yesterday to have a proper look.
The quality of the bike, which was shockingly poor on the show models, has improved with the production version. The wet weight of the bike is meant to be about 199kg, which is excellent. smile They had all 4 colour schemes in stock, so it was good to compare. White/Black looks best.
Despite the fact that the Blade is bound to be great to ride, it's fackin' awful to look at. A superbike with Droopy looks. The exhaust is nasty. The seat unit is angular, and at odds with the "melted" front end. The inset tank badge and proud CBR badge on the fairing are tacky in the extreme.
The engineering appeals to me but I'll never own one because it's so ugly and unresolved."
