My wife has rather kindly picked a new head unit for me as the OEM one has finally packed up (it was s**t anyway)
I already have component speakers front and rear although I do need some sound proofing and I am picking up a sub at the weekend to fill out the sound.
Question:-
The JVC head unit that I have has a rear output but the manual says to cut the power to the rear speaker circuit when using it – does this matter?
Should I exchange the head unit (Halfords) for one with a dedicated sub output and control? (I think that some of the Kenwood and Sony units have this facility) This will allow me to control the sub independently of the rest of the sound and control (ie lower) the amount of bass going to the tiny door speakers.
Does anyone know which units in Halfords have this sub control so I can exchange mine if needed.
