Quick question on how to do this. At the momnet my foglights are wired up as this {not my wiring came like this}:

I can flick the switch for the foglamps to turn on when the sidelights, dip or full beam is on. Also when full beam is on the foglighs stay on. Also when ignition is on with all lights turned off, I can flick the switch to turn on foglights, they light up and so does the sidelights

Can I re-arrange the wiring so the spotlights can use the same wiring and only work on full beam and also have the switch to turn off the spotlights if I dont want to use them when im in full beam, or is it just less hassle to run new cables and a relay.

Forgot to say im taking out the standard scooby foglights to be replaced with hella 500 spotlights

Surely you DO want to use them with main beam....
Any other time you will just blind everybody else.

So much easier to tweak the main-beam/dip-beam stalk, than fumble for a switch !

yea I want them to work on full beam only, but also have the choice to switch them off from the full beam so only my headlights come on full beam

I can wire up a new relay for the spots, but im being lazy. Thought I can patch into the wiring that was used for the fogs

Hmmm, I'm trying to think....

It's unlikely you can use your existing wiring without a lot of work tracing and modifying it.
Fit a relay operated from main beam via a switch to turn them off when you don't want them on. A fused supply to the relay contacts tthen to the lights will do the job far easier.
If your existing wiring is anything like Subaru's normal stuff, using proper sized cable will give a lot more light as well.

Thats the way my PIAA's are wired up so they come on with main beam only but you can also turn them off with a switch if u dont want them on at all, but the PIAA's came with this wiring kit so dont know it works though!!:wonder:

Im sure any autospark could alter ur own wiring to suit though or re-wire them to a new switch through a relay and that.:thumb:

IMO go for new, thicker, wires.
I have it wire like this:
fused wire from battery to relay 1, then wire to relay 2, control pins on relay 1: positive current nicked from high beam wire, other side earth.
Relay 2, control pins: positive current nicked from foglight wire, other side earth. Main out to driving lights.
All 'main' wires should be, I don't know, minimum 2.5mm˛? This way you can use 100w bulbs in the driving lights. Run earth from the lights with equally thick wires to convenient point on chassis.
Wired this way both foglight switch have to be depressed AND high beam have to be on.

Adam k's idea sounds about right, it saves having to run cabling into the dash.
I'm not sure when you'd want main beam on but not your spots though.
