I had the original front pads on my MY00 replaced with Mintex 1155. The OEM discs were badly warped about 500 miles later and I got them replaced with Bremsport Group 'N' discs. 3000 miles later I had to replace the pads (Mintex 1155 again) as one out of the four was down to the metal (sticking pad). 500 miles later I get brake judder when braking from higher speeds. The rear pads are getting close to needing replacing - could it be this - or could it be the rear discs that are warped? - or have I warped the fronts again?...

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Ian.

Getting brake judder from high speed is quite common. It means that when the discs are cold they run true, but warp when hot. If it's the fronts, you'll feel it through the steering, if it's the rears, you'll feel it through the seat. Bet it's the fronts that have gone again though. Get some decent discs like Pagid, Prodrive or Godspeed with alloy bells.

WADR, try to use the side/hand brake more. Standing on the discs when they are hot (does not matter what make) will warp them eventually.

I do lots of trackdays and drive a heavier car (esp. with me in it ), and have yet to warp a disc on either of the Legacys I have owned (std. set up w/very high perf pads, fluid and mesh hoses).

Not taking a shot, just trying to help Headed for the bunker JIC...

Cheers.
