Was wondering if the facelift instrument cluster would fit in a prefacelift classic as i find the dials much more attractive to look at and improves the interior of the car a great deal.

Thanks

I would of thought it would fit but the wireing would be totally different mate.
I could be wrong though.

If thats the case i would take it to an auto electrician to get it sorted out. Just wanted to know if its possible thats all.

If I remember correctly, the way it reads the speed is completely different. It's possible... but not easy.

Ive fitted a v4 sti speedo into my v2sti but I changed the complete dash too.
Speedo needs wiring. You will need a electronic speed convertor and the later speed sensor thats fitted to the gearbox for it to work.
The rest is a matter of finding which wire does what and joining it to the old speedo loom.

Note the v4 sti speedo has a copper ribbon circuit at the back so you can trace the wires easily. The v5 has a soldered circuit & is not a simple to trace unless you got a wiring diagram for all the colour codes.
