Would seriously doubt that one mate.

Probably be wrong as usual. But, nah ! it's going to be a while before scoobs are fitted with USB - 1/2 ports.

No doubt - some one is working on a different port - but I seriously doubt a 'regular' type connection.

Yes it is possible, how else would you get your car mapped for one :)

I think its called an ODb or similar to check fault codes and resel them etc

I have a OBDPRO Subaru Impreza CarPC (http://www.wrx-carpc.co.uk/) It picks up any faults and more ...... connects under the steering wheel via a laptop :)

I have Ecutek Deltadash. Can be used on MY99 and onwards I think.
Lots of functions on there. I have just used it today to check my mates WRX 2001 bugeye.
Engine management light came on.
Turns out it was misfire on cylinder 4.
Bought new plug. Cleared Ecu and went for a run. No faults recorded.
I wonder how much that would have cost at Subaru. :wonder: just to tell you you had a dodgy plug & change it.
Probably more than a woner by the time they put it on diagnostic.

I've used it several times on MY99 RA. Picks up MAF sensor failure straight away, and on V5's that is a big plus. Can also see voltage for MAF sensor and that can start to drop when it starts to fail, so you get early warning.
I plug it in every couple of weeks. Check for faults. I've even logged some runs and emailed to Andy Forest for him to check over for me.

Well worth the money in my mind. Cost £252.63 (3 licences)

Get yourself a playstation;)

Get youself a PSi3 unit for diagnostic stuff. Plugs into the OBD and does all sorts of stuff.

:wonder: Cheaper than a data monitor and a playstation:norty:

Get a $30 Tactrix OpenPort USB->OBDII cable then pop over to openecu.org for the software. Only works on 1999 onwards though. If you have a Denso or current gen ECU you can also download the maps, edit them and flash them back on.

You could also pay silly money for Ecutek kit to do basically the same thing.

I have a suitable laptop and cable if you're ever near blackwood and want to see what you can do, though be quick as it's going to be permanantly plumbed into the back of my Car PC soon.

It can be done. My brother made his own lead and is now playing about with the mapping himself!

EcuTeK and openEcu are able enough but to be honest i would stick with the EcuTek Delta Dash.
