do you mean you want your cars turbo to spool up quicker?

if so then best advice is to go for the smallest turbo to meet your power needs, ie the td04 on a later version uk impreza spools up v quick but it runs out of puff too after about 5500rpm

yours prob has a td05 depending what year it is which is more progressive imo and pulls harder higher up the revs, to make the most of it first off fit a full decated exhaust and downpipe, that'll help faster spool up, you can go for headers and up pipe too all depends on your budget stick with a top mount ic too

for a fast spooling impreza with around 330-340bhp
id suggest

VF35 turbo
STI 7/8 top mount IC, with undertray
Decat exhaust and downpipe
ported and wrapped headers
FPR or bigger injectors
Walbro fuel pump and an aftermarket ecu of some description

thats the route im going down, be intresting to see how it turns out.

good luck

have a good look on here mate in the for sale section there is a few sti intercoolers and a few vf35's knockin about at good money, apexi power fc's can be got easy enough too but i think im gonna shell out the extra 250 quid all in an go for a simtek which gets rid of the dreaded maf sensor, it has a habit of failing on the 99-00 cars

id stick with the apexi then mate, your maf should be ok at that age of car,id just look at the other mods i mentioned or even keep ypur td05 and get a remap of the apexi done and you should see a good gain
