Just a quick thought.

After all the stuff I got for christmas I noticed the WRC Branding seems to have been give a serious distribution.

CH4 - Good start
PS2 - WRC Game
Magazine - RallyXS ( sort of )
Web Site - WRC.COM - Looks good and gives the info needed
Yearbook - Hermitte ( not quite RallyCorse but some stunning photo's for only £9.99)
Video - Duke - As usual brilliant

Any others ?

Also starting to make a big presence in the USA.. Monte Carlo was a full hour on Speedvision channel every night of the event.. In prime time here on the West Coast..

As opposed to last year when all we got was a 1 hour review of the entire event and then almost a month later.

I'm all for making it more popular and appreciated by a wider audience. :D

The only thing that I worry about is that on some of the rallies, crowds are always a problem, and with increased popularity things could get even worse, and that eventually we may not be able to get as close to the action as we can today.

F1 these days tends to be very sterile and dare I say it quite boring at times. I'd hate for rallying to go the same way, with spectators only being permitted to watch from the grandstand at Super Specials etc. Imagine the situation if individual drivers/teams etc started getting sued from spectators who's clothes got splashed by some mud/gravel, or they were hit by a stone :(

On the bright side, I'm all for much more coverage on TV. I could certainly cope with a couple of hours coverage per night (not sure my wife would agree ;)), and would like to see more of the cars outside the top 10 from time to time, as they can often be very entertaining, even if they don't quite have the same levels of speed.

JohnS - Gotta agree with the speccy thing. Certainly have seen Catalunya suffer.

TV - The more the merrier I say. Just hope the proggy improves and doesn't go all 'lifestyle' like RallyXS. One good point is my 6 month old son got to watch his first rally and seemed to enjoy it :).

rsquire - Glad you're getting some over the pond ;) and I think this may be the start of the WRC push to get a WRC round in the U.S.

As an aside the Rally Yearbook is really good value and has some stunning photo's and at a third of the price of Rallycorse.
