hi
my 1999 turbo 2000 makes a nasty catching/scraping sound(from the drivers side wheel area) when cornering hard to the left(only to left not right)

there is no evidence of the wheel/tyres catching on anything
the car has done 81k

anybody any ideas?

thanks

Could be the backing plate is close to the disc.

Probably not the same thing, but i had a similar problem on uk turbo 97.
Initially thought wheel bearing but turned out to be suspension casing. Discovered by the mechanic on a test run when the casing collapsed !
The cup that holds the sping parted company with the leg! not what you want really, so id have a look make sure the casing inst rusty.

Had the same problem on my 04 STi, it was the mudflaps hitting the floor!!

Try a couple of very hard stops from speed, this may stop the noise.
