had a demo at work from the philips dude about the ambilight technology in the tvs...


how cool

if you guys don't know what it is search on youtube ambilight star wars lightsabre for a demo

I bet your an essex boy that drives a corsa that looks like a mobile xmas tree with half of halfords stuck to it.

This is the audio and visual version of having neon lights splattered everywhere on your car

They're also coding it into games now (Ubisoft IIRC) - at the last game conference, Philips were promoting a ambilight thing for the PC (inc subs etc)

Yes, a bit gimmicky, but what ever floats your boat

Looks daft and adds nothing.....

I don't get it really - Pioneer are trying hard to make as black a border/screen as possible (and doing a damn fine job), and Philips are hell bent on these daft coloured lights and coloured bezels. Daft....

I don't have one but I think it looks good, it kind of extends the picture, cant see why everone is so scathing, it looks good in the demo ?

Its all grand having ambilight but Philips' Audio and Visuals on these TV's are ****e. pointless, buy a pioneer instead imo

It's a shame really - Philips are one of THE pioneers of new inventions. Then everybody else goes and does it properly
