Okay been thru all this before !! but having purchased the Autobrite HD lance and super snow foam last summer and being pleased enough with the amount off actual foam it produces its the same old story that to have the car looking as if it has had any sort off wash then its a case off snow foam - rinse - snow foam - sponge and rinse off again.

peronally find that spraying the car with snow foam itself and rinsing is not good enough for me anyway - black car long story but any other owner off a black car will tell you its a total nightmare when it comes to keeping clean !!

anyway to cut a long story short nipped into one off these car foam wash places the other day and pays the money, chap foams the car, rinses and out I drives ten mins later with one very clean looking car, no sponges involved anywhre in the process !! so okay appreciatte that the stuff they use is probably very harmful to your cars bodywork and done too many times will more than likely remove any wax etc built up on the car but would love to find out what they use, as in all honesty would take this stuff anyday over supersnow foam, especially in the winter months when a quick blast off foam / rinse off etc with the stuff they use is enough to keep the car presentable !!

so okay whats the secret with the stuff these guys use ?? surely its not just down to them using hot water within there pressure hose systmns is it ??!!

these car wash places use a very strong cleaning agent's in the foam mix which could strip wax off with just one visit. i understand wot you mean but it depends how much you care for your car. i use snow foam before using the 2 bucket method, depending on how much muck etc on the car it gets most of it off, also it depends on how often you wash your car aswell.

What are you using to foam the car ?

I don't have a black car anymore, but yes it was a nightmare !

Try regular shampoo topped up with warm water and snow foam and see if that improves things. CG's Citrus Shampoo is good, if you are looking for something with more beans try the strongwash too.

Ok I have a question why use buckets of soap when using a foam gun….? Y not foam wash off foam again (getting rid of most dirt) then using one bucket of just water to rinse the wash mitt just using the soap that’s sprayed on the car rather than using a 2nd bucket ?????

Some of it is down to the water temperature; since we bought our hot water pressure washer I have been amazed at how much more cleaning power just warm water offers. However, a lot of washing sites will be using TFR foams, which are generally strong and will strip all traces of waxes and sealants. The combination of warm water and a strong TFR will clean pretty much anything, but not leave an ounce of protection on the paint. :D
