I've got a one year old female royal python and a 2.5ft x 1.5ft vivarium for her. They don't like being housed in big tanks so this one will do for her until she's about 3/4 yrs old.
She's a really good feeder with none of the feeding problems that are so common to pythons. I feed her 1 small mouse a week or 2 fuzzies a week depending on what the pet shop has. I just use big tweezers and dangle the mouse in front of her and she'll take it.
She's really friendly and loves being handled. My wee cousins have held her a fair bit and she doesn't mind at all, even when they've dropped her. She has never tried to bite or turn, even if you touch her head, which is unusual.
She also sheds her skin in one complete piece which shows good health.
Python's are one of the most friendly snakes and are a great first snake to have as they are so easy to care for. I'm only getting rid of her because I'm living with my boyfriend in his parents house and I'm not allowed to bring the snake. I don't think his mom likes them, lol.
I'm looking for about £125 (open to offers) for her with the tank and accessories and one months supply of food. So you'd have everything you need for taking care of her and won't need to buy anything else except food after the first month.
I'm in antrim and can deliver the snake if needed. If you're interested let me know.
