Great images but I reckon you are right -- some of them have been photoshopped to add more impact.

Try some of these :D

Aircraft pictures gallery (http://www.richard-cooke.com/aircraft-prints.htm)

I've seen some originals and there was no evidence of Photoshop on his Ektachromes ;)

"You were in a 4G negative push over with a Russian Mig23? Bull cough ****"

I wonder if he gave him "the bird"

So you're the one :P

Richard, those look like they are the real deal. Some of the pics in the first post could easily have been photoshopped. Nice gallery :thumb:

Glad you like them guys :) I have one of Richard Cooke's books and the quality is spot on, which just doesn't come across on those very low res website images :(

I know his pics of the Red Arrows and the Lightning weren't Photoshopped as it had not been invented when they were taken! The Lightning was shot just up the road from me - might even see my house if I looked carefully :D

His technique was also pretty amazing for its day, and the cooperation he got from the RAF. He got them to fabricate a rear-facing camera bracket outside the plane and he released the shutter via a rewired bomb-button  Of course, he had no idea of what he was actually shooting until his 36 exposures were processed. It was all pre-choreographed on the ground and when the following pilot said he was in position, Richard hit the button and hoped.

He told me that his first efforts were very well received, hence the on-going cooperation, but the pilots complained they could not see their faces clearly. So they insisted on doing it all again, but much closer this time. If memory serves, I think he used a 24mm on his Nikon a lot of the time so they must have been right up his chuff

"We're in his jet-wash!!!"

Richard :)
