Now I may well be imagining this and talking cod-sh*te ;) - but didn't McRae get rid of Nicky after the 'incident' at the GB Rally last year? (Despite admitting that the accident was his fault, and that the pace notes were spot on)
I was just really surprised to see him in the passenger seat yesterday on the tv. Anyone know what happened, why he's stayed? (Apart from the fact it must be more difficult to get a co-driver position than a driver position?)
Cheers

Maybe he likes being suspended upside down in a rally car.

AFAIK...
A different co-driver tested with Colin during the winter break in case Nicky get's injuired at some point.

Probably Ford's response to what happened to Makinens co-driver after their accident and subsequently what happened to Makinen's performance when a suitable replacement could not be found for the next rally.
I think the media more than anything drove the Grist/McRae split and nothing else.... 2 + 2 = 5

Thanks Nigel, that would sound feasible.
The media love getting hold of bad stories don't they?
Cheers,

The split was reported on britishrally.co.uk at the beginning of December. They published the apology about a week later . As suggested, the story originated after someone else (Chris Wood?) tested with Colin.
