Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 - to be used on a Canon 300D. Seems good value at £250?
£137 from Hong Kong ..
Much cheaper secondhand .....
Anyone any opinions?

This is the lens I use most on a 30D and I rate very highly. Check out the numerous on line reviews.
Some rate the image quality in the league of the Canon 17-40L although build quality whilst OK would not compare. Depends what is most important for you and how hard you expect to use your gear.

Ive got this lens which is a lot better than the one Canon supplied but it has got known issues with front focusing i had to exchange my first one, and even this one can be a bit off with a large aperture.
