Hi guys

Need to replace the standard shocks/springs off my Spec-c. Not looking for AST/EXE-TC type shocks as i dont do the track days to warrant paying so much.
Got to get rid of the STI stuff though as you guessed it, its started knocking.

So what do i go for without breaking the bank??

Cheers

Find a company called MOCOM (in Essex) and chat to them.

Another alternative to Grahams suggestion is KYB shocks which a very reasonably priced and i believe they make the original shocks for subaru.

That was the system I was thinking of, just couldn't remember the product's name.
Seem to have a good 'feedback' on here.

Take a look in gb's for "Coilover suspension" from Apex Performance.

If KYB make the original shocks for Subaru, which i know they do, then wont their own shocks be just as crap and fail within a few thousand miles??:wonder:

yup they probably will fail just the same as the 500 squid ones you get from a dealer but they will fail at 1/3rd of the cost!.

These are from Apex performance, just fitted, loads of adjustment up and down, I settled at dropping 35mm all round to start. Seem ok so far but need geo now.

Rich: i was thinking of your last sentence in the first post.

You can spend more, but if the knocking is from the NS rear, then it is almost 'they all do that' which they do not.
My stock Sti V3 syspension was silent and worked very well on the road. As I race mine it all had to be modified, but i kept the stock stuff!.

Koni/Bilstein come to mind.

It was kw I was thinking of, not kyb. Sorry.

Thanks all for the replies guys :thumb: .

I am thinking of a Prodrive spring/ Bilstein shock set-up. Not coilovers but still fairly firm.

What are your opnions on that combo??

That will be nice, very 'P1' and close to the all-rounder Sti performance for the road.
Consider carefully the alignment job after. Get it set-up by someone who really knows.
