Hi all last week I went to the Autosport show checked out the new Scooby ( ) I also spent some time at the Parc Ferme stand (spot on PB with your 1st guess :thumb: ) they had a lovely Lamborghini Murciélago in black and being they are a main Zymol agent I expected this car to be a perfect example of how a car can be turned out with a no expenses spared philosophy.

However after closer inspection this was not the case, the car had very heavy swirl marks all over the bodywork especially the bonnet which was in very bad condition. I had a talk to the bloke applying wax to the car (royal which I think is the very expensive wax, to be corrected:wonder: ) he was giving me the whole sales talk about the products, think he thought I had no idea what I was on about so I gave him some back explaining what I use and where I source my products from etc. he was going on about what better results Zymol would give over blackfire wax (1/10 of the price) so I had to make a comment about the fact that my paint is in a far better condition and that expensive products are no compromise for good cleaning technique …. Think that went down well. :p

It really was a eye opener that there are some cowboys around who would try and sell you poor service at high prices and trade on a brand name just goes to show that Zymol are not that concerned about the type of companies that represent them if any more was needed. There is no way I would have had a trade stand selling car cleaning products and services with such a poor example on show. Sad thing is my car which had done 200 miles of fast driving to get to the show looked in better condition ….

Not the best photos but they will give you some ideas of the turn out

What you use gives 10% of the final finish. How you prepare the paint in terms of methods accounts for the other 90%. Can you see what we were up against now?! :D

I saw that car as well - it really was shocking how bad it was. The paintwork was like a secondhand builder's van.

looks like they didnt even bother to HD Cleanse the paint as it would have hidden half those defects....

I went to the Autosport show on Friday (Traders day) and saw the Pacr Ferme stand.

As per the comments above they didn't do themselves any justice with the car and their Prep.

They car was very poorly prepped, not something I'd like to "show off" at one of the biggest shows of the year as a pro detailer.

But at a few grand for a stand I don't think you'll find me or any other detailers showing their capabilites at a show like that unfortunatley.

Yep don’t think it would have done them any good, they looked very unprofessional 2 me… the sad thing is most of the piston heads cars where in much better condition and they are not there to sell a product or service crazy.

I take it these guys have a poor reputation then ???

They also run Zymol Europe... and I posted my thoughts about them on here and DW only a week or so back! ;)

I've heard a few things about this car, a couple of points need raising though.

The lighting at the NEC is murder! I’ve prepared cars there for Porsche club GB, all the cars were washed outside so I got a chance to inspect their finish in more natural lighting, but inside any defects were super magnified!

As for Parc Ferme, I would not be happy with that at all, I understand they didn't see the car until they arrived! So no prep before, but even so! I would be looking to correct it, even something by hand! Defiantly not putting on Royal over that!

If it hadnt been corrected before going on the stand they could hade taped it off and showed what they are made of.
No excuse in my book.

Why any company would arrive at a show without allowing sufficient time to correct what was going to be on their stand is beyond me. We did the largest show in Scotland two years back (10,000 through the door in a day), and had two cars on our stand. The show was on the Sunday, with setup on the Saturday. We spent all of Saturday correcting and perfecting one of the cars, and yep, the lighting was very bright, so the work had to be 100%. On the Sunday, as part of the show, we did the same to the other car in front of an audience all day long. Bright lights, poor wash facilities, etc, are no excuse for a poorly presented demo car, particularly when you have been in the business for a while and know what to expect at such shows.

PB, I'm not defending Parc Freme at all! However we don't know the full story.

I've done enough high profile shows to know it's not always that easy!
