bit of a strange one this. looking at new sealants to offer to the top line customers

nothing looks really untoward with the outside

Astral CSL - Professional Cleaning Solutions for the Automotive Industry. Car Valeting Products, Truck Cleaning Products, Pressure Wash Additives, Workshop & Maintenance Solutions. (http://www.astralcsl.com/product.do?product=38238)

the strange part comes when you read the instructions to use it

basicaly the larger bottle is your standard pre cleaner, but the second bottle, this is a bit wierd

you apply the product over the car and leave it to haze for approx 10 mins, now to activate it, you have to cover a panel in water via mist spray, then wipe dry, spraying with water is supposed to start the chemical process, which then takes 3 days to harden

the rep who i know quite well told me that he did his own car a few years back, and i`m sure you know the rest of the story, along with the stories of airlines using it to save fuel 2/3% due to the planes being more slippery lol

anybody tried this stuff? i dont want to try it on my car at the moment as half of it is in primer and the full thing is getting painted in a few months :)

feck it, did a little 50/50 on the bonnet, will report back how it fares, seriously doubt it lasts "up to 3 years" but it could be a decent 8/10 month type product.....

paint feels pretty slick at the moment!

Think he's the guy who's been spamming every thread over on detailing world in a big way. Pamibarry ring any bells?
3 year we'd all be using it, hell even 1year!

3 years would sort of cut down on his custom, would take a long time to get through a bottle. But I suppose you would have lost it by then

i have used a supplier of astral stuff based up here in the north east for the past 3 years, mine does not spam every single board with his bollocks, infact he despises dealing with anybody other then trade to be honest

i have seen the posts from paimbarry on a valeting forum i use elsewhere :)

only enough in the bottle for 1 application.

lets be honest, this stuff is not going to last 3 years, i can tell you that now, as its impossible, real paint lacquer would last 3 years, add on sealant will not ;)

if it lasts 8/10 months it could be a good buy IMO :)

to be honest i totally forgot i had put the stuff on today, so forgot to check it, will have a look tomorrow (and the 3 days curing will be up!)

some of my thoughts so far

the astral pink is not really needed, its just a medium cut watery compound to clean the paint ready for th sealant.

the actual sealant, this i cant work out, applys like an oily solvet type water. i just cant work out how spraying water on will "activate" it

wondering if the water is really just to help remove the other stuff?

Yeah it might need water to help buff it off! Sometimes Z HDC can be a pig to remove without buffing with water!

Activation with water; makes no sense, as water is one of nature's most potent solvents... so is almost certainly used to help take the residue off, and nothing more! :thumb:
