Hi mate, thought i had the dreaded knock on mine. Got under the car on Sunday and tightened the rear drop link bolts up on the passenger side. i had adjusted the rear roll bar and forgot to re-tighten the bolts after 1000mls. cured my knocking, may be worth trying mate. my car is 03STi btw.

jack up the rear wheel so there is no tension in the strut. grab the strut and give it a shake, if there is any play in it you will hear it knock

rip them off and fit AST from Powerstation

As said in previous posts a VERY common problem.

The struts have a "Life" of about 15Km to 25Km my one mate is second set on a 2006 car http://forums.sidc.co.uk/style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif depending on use

knocking usaully starts being notice when parking slowly on lock (back and forwards) it can feel like wheel is a 50p shaped http://forums.sidc.co.uk/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif

if you jack up back end or spray oil up strut will stop the noise but only for a short while ;)

i have whiteline arb's front and rear and whiteline droplinks all round, i think i need my struts replacing will having aftermarket susp parts invalidate a warrenty claim and will subaru have to do them:wonder:
