Think front calipers need over haul on my bike(R6 2000)

Put bike on paddock stands and the front wheel doesnt spin freely, got a bit of resistance.Put new pads on few months ago and im just wondering if the pistons need greasin up to release them or over haul the calipers. What do you lot think and where could i get the parts to do it?

First thing, strip the calipers off of the fork legs and do as much as you can without stripping them down. You should be able to take the pads out and clean/lube the bolts/sliding pins then get the pistons out as far as you can without going past the seals. The copious quantities of WD40 to cleand and lube them.

Press them back, reassemble and see what they're like.

Just don't get lube on the pads/disks!

This will be the kiss of death to the calipers, and can put the rider at risk of brake seizure.

You need to understand what caused the seizure before you try and refurbish them !

Seizure is caused by road salt crystals growing in the piston seal grooves which causes the seal to pinch the pistons. They need to be removed and the seal grooves scraped clean before re-greasing the seals with RED RUBBER GREASE (nothing else)

Using any type of mineral oil or grease on a brake system will cause the seals to swell and risk seizure!
