hi guys could any person give me suggestions on my winow in the scoob it has had a small crack in it for a few months now and once again im getting preparied for a seasons mot would i get her passed? or not? its only 3/4 cm long but im sceptical about the thot of splashing out alot of money over crimbo period for a new one thanks will.. :( :cuckoo:

Fully comp?? You can claim for a screen and it wont affect you no claims

Scubbay's right mate, claim of ur insurance if ur fully comp and it wont affect ur no claims, but there is normally a £50 excess. However makesure you take it to windscreen company that ur insurance company will let you use, Mine will only let me use RAC windscreens.

Have done this before and can guarantee it does not affect ur no claims.

get it sorted b4 it gets anyworse. i think the police can stop you and can refuse to let you drive the car any further for being unroadworthy.

:luxhello: thanks guys i took a wee trip past my mecanic today and ad him look at it as he is always up at mot centre most days its been there for a few months and not been spreading... so he says she should pass the ticket but to get it replaced sooner than later im fully comp through quinn direct so ill hallow them monday know doubt they will have a load of waffle to tell me lol...

As long as the crack isnt in the drivers "main field of view", and as such does not affect his vision their should be no problem from plod LOL. The field of view is an area about A3 size directly in front of the driver btw. As stated most ins companies will cover the cost of a replacement screen and you just pay the excess, normally about £50, the screen may also be able to be repaired using a resin injection method, that actually repairs and stope the crack from developing, depending on size and location, but this is normally more for largish chips etc.....

A crack that falls within the main view area is an automatic MOT fail also.....any mechanic should be able to tell you where you stand
