Default Anyone going snowboarding/skiing in the new year

Primarily in the first week?

Thought it was worth asking, you never know.
Finally decided we are gonna head out after all, even though everyone else has dropped out, so its just the 2 of us
Dangerous number lol

Princessa Park - Haven't been to Arinsal before, but the childcare seems to be fairly good and this is the first time for the kids, so at least if they don't like skiing they can spend the days throwing snowballs in the kids club

Excellent hotel mate, you will love it. Not upgrading to the Diana Parc wing?
The food there is superb, and the service excellent. (porters expect a tip lol)

Night life El Cau is THE hot spot

Nice and near the gondola too you are, nice little walk down easy steps to it. Off the main road too, much safer for the kids

We are in the Diana Parc

Sure you will love it though mate, been a few times now, so any questions.....

couple of weekend trips to the Frenchy Alps then main event of Whistler in March. Got a buddy doing a season there this year so he should have the good backcountry sorted out, and cheap beer as well

Going to Altenmarkt in Austria for a Stag week in March. I've never skied before but I'm expecting lessons for Christmas.
Question is whether to do snowboarding or skiing? I like the look of snowboarding and was a keen skateboarder in my youth - back in the mid-eighties.. But I don't want to separate myself from the rest of the staggers as I think they'll all be skiing.

Nick, you will be fine mate, unless your all having lessons together, in which case you will be split up.
My preference is boarding, just feels free and more fun (skiers will disagree lol)

Pretty easy to pick up too, nothing complex, and just requires a certain element of fitness and flexability.

Where are you taking lessons? I would recommend real snow rather than the fake stuff, and also if your keen to keep doing it, get your own boots

Now the holiday is back on I need to get my new board sharpish. Not bothering with new gear now though. Just gonna stick with my 686 Smarty stuff

lol yeah I was thinking the same. Its not booked and wont be until I know I can actually do it.
What you have to take into account is, from the opinions of most of the professionals (my company doctor, my own GP and my physio) its the poor ergonomics at work that have caused my back to go into spasm.
Physio 3 times a week, and gentle exercise and I "should" be fine.
If not, I dont go

Dave. Arinsal has been poor for snow recently, Feb was bad first few days, but still fun
Hoping they will get some snow soon too. Only about 40cm at the mo.

Jesus mate, not good at all. Where there is a bad break on a snow holiday 75% have drunk people involved.

Was it ironic the name they chose for ski slopes... piste, sounds just like...

Martin, not far off it I reckon
