I am looking at buying some boots online but am wondering about what size to order.
Do fellow bikers generally buy and wear boots that match the size of everday shoes or go half a size bigger for comfort?
A daft one i know........

my feet are 9 my boots are 9, they are a bit tight on me though, when I get some new ones I think I'll go 1/2 a size up,
but if I was spending a lot of money on boots then I would definately try them on first, they are probably a bit like leathers, different makes are a slightly diffferent fit, and your boots must be comfy!
mine are a pain in the ass cause they are a bit tight and I wouldnt want to walk around very much in them

Simple really....go down your local J&S or Hein Gericke type place and try the stuff on there (also worth mentioning internet prices too, as some places have been known to drop prices) then go online, find the best price and buy knowing that they fit you.
Same goes for lids and leathers etc

Only if they sell the brand of boots your after.
With trainers for example different brands can vary in size which is why with Adidias Goodyears i need a size 11 and Nike trainers a size 10.

Reckon you need to try first. I have had Dainese / Alpinestars boots the same as my shoe size and they fit fine. I have now got some Sidis and had to go one size bigger.

Oh bloody hell.:Whatever_
My point is/was that it's bloody obvious that you need to go and try these things on. What sort of berk would order an item of clothing based on the fact that some bloke, whom he's never met, said it would fit ON THE F'ING INTERNET. It's not like it's even a fashion item, these things are designed to keep you safe ffs.

You are easily wound up, calm yourself down i only asked a question.
For the record there is nothing wrong with asking somebody with experience/knowledge their opinion which you can choose to take on board or ignore regardless of whether you know them or not.
You have given your opinion now lets leave it at that.
