View Full Version : Toseland in shoert list for Sports Personality. Swen6 02 December 2007, 09:03 As above he's on the list of 10 that you can vote for on the night, will anyone bother of will they all be voting for that looser Hamilton. darrens_here 02 December 2007, 10:27 Hows Hamilton a loser ?!?!? :wonder: ok, he finished 2nds in the championshiop, but Im sure, if anyone had offered him 2nd before the season he would have been happy. FWIW I say, well done Hamilton !!!!! :notworthy lee-swindon 02 December 2007, 11:27 i agree hamilton all the way!! hes also on top gear tonight in the, "star in a reasonably priced car" CrisPDuk 02 December 2007, 11:30 Darren, second place is first loser, which makes Hamilton a loser by definition;) In any case Toseland is better qualified because he is actually in posession of his own personality, rather than one that's been manufactured for him by his Team:rolleyes: Pudders69 03 December 2007, 09:46 smart money is on Hammyilton...infact what are the odds, mi9ght be worth a punt???? urban 03 December 2007, 11:58 Darren, second place is first loser, which makes Hamilton a loser by definition;) In any case Toseland is better qualified because he is actually in posession of his own personality, rather than one that's been manufactured for him by his Team:rolleyes: Totally agree. Normski 03 December 2007, 12:55 Darren, second place is first loser, which makes Hamilton a loser by definition;) In any case Toseland is better qualified because he is actually in posession of his own personality, rather than one that's been manufactured for him by his Team:rolleyes: I agree as well. But Hamilton will be a dead-cert for this. The majority of people will never have heard of James, ever though he is a double world champ. Pudders69 03 December 2007, 13:53 I agree as well. But Hamilton will be a dead-cert for this. The majority of people will never have heard of James, ever though he is a double world champ. Anyone remember when the presenter interviewed foggy after winning his 4th wsb title..."maybe if you win a 5th you could be in the running" FFS, how many 4 times world champs were in the popularity show:D Pud Sbradley 03 December 2007, 16:38 But in fairness Foggy was never going to win a Sports, or anything else, personality competition. Because he generated the public image of a twat. SB PS Actually a decent enough bloke with a sense of humour. But still not really a great personality and almost certainly not someone you'd want to sit through a long dinner with... r32 04 December 2007, 08:04 I'll be voting for James. And I suppose as Lewis didnt win the F1 championship he was a loser, but not in the derogatory sense. The guy is a star. Would any one in Germany have dissed Schumacher? Why do we have a down on this country and the people in it (other than immigrants)? We should all be proud we (at last) have some one with the talent to be F1 World Champion. And I mean TALENT darrens_here 04 December 2007, 10:03 ok, second place might be the first "loser", but end of the day, Im sure ANYONE in ANY sport who enters the main event would consider being the "first loser" in their first season a great achievement. Remeber guys, neither Schumacher, senna, prost (hill or mansell cough cough) or any of those guys did anywhere near as good as Lewis in their first opening season, irrelvant of the car, he still had to beat a) his own team mate whom was a double world chamion, b) the ferrari's. Toseland has been on the circuit for many years, therefore IMHO, Lewis had achieved far more than was expected, and would be a more worthy winner of the sports personality. Swen6 04 December 2007, 11:05 ......Lewis had achieved far more than was expected.... He did achieve a good result, but the Personality award isn't about what he achieved on his first season, but thats what people are going to vote on, which is why i worded it loser. Topgear was the first instance all year [December] hes shown who he is. Toselands always about he just doesn't get the coverage cause he rides a bike, he's good for the sport, he doesn't just turn up when needed, i saw him at BSB at Cadwell, he was at Brands as well. Can't see Hamilton interacting with fans by turning up to a National Championship event, it'd be below him.:D 7 Foot 08 December 2007, 14:57 which is why i worded it loser. You didn't actually, you worded it "looser", which means something completely different. :p It's not actually an award for the sportsman with the best personality now is it? Hamilton bored the pants off me on Top Gear, but so what. I'm sure he's a cracking bloke and I'd probably come across as quiet and dull if you stuck me in front of a bunch of cameras and a crowd. I'd be like Bambi caught in headlights and I'd have been worse at Lewis's age. Hamilton nearly achieved the unthinkable this year. To describe him as a loser or the first loser is a huge insult (unless you ;) *nods to CrisP*). IMO he deserves it but in a bizarre twist I'm going to vote for JT. :) Sbradley 10 December 2007, 00:00 Well fair play to JT, he made it into 4th, just 710 votes behind Ricky Hatton. But 93,000 short of the winner... SB |
