Pager is pretty neat and although it's range isn't as good as the US models(up to 1 mile) it's still better than most of the other pagers on the market. I have the 500xv on one of my own cars. Same alarm but with the Colour animated pager. MotorG Raf 01 December 2007, 16:10 the 500Xv is brilliant. Have it on my car with loads of extras such as remote start, tilt, glass break etc. The remote is well cool The Rig 13 December 2007, 13:50 ive got the 480xv on my scoob, i had to buy a Bitwriter in the end for ease of full use of the alarm. just need to fit the tilt sensor MotorG Raf 13 December 2007, 16:07 just fitted the 500XV remote on my viper 480xv and the remote is awesome!!!! The display for the remote start is brilliant. The Rig 13 December 2007, 16:18 it would be nice if the 500 remote also installed the extra solenoids etc for remote start ! i find it cheap to buy my parts for the 480 from the US and install them, over ere,its crazy, an 11 pound part over there is 60 quid here !!! chrispurvis100 13 December 2007, 17:13 how much are these kits? The Rig 13 December 2007, 22:59 varies, some fit a 480xv for £350,some £299 some a bit more, but be careful as if u dont have a solenoid for the remote central lockin, thats £3o on top etc cheaper now than they were 12 mthsago, when minewasfitted,it was new andeven the installers were intregued as to how it worked etc,i had to tell them tocut the black siren wire to make the chirps louder !!!!! Jesus H 15 December 2007, 10:17 it would be nice if the 500 remote also installed the extra solenoids etc for remote start ! i find it cheap to buy my parts for the 480 from the US and install them, over ere,its crazy, an 11 pound part over there is 60 quid here !!! extra solenoids for remote start? matttp1 22 December 2007, 21:35 Just in the process of buying a MY97 wrxsti and have had a cat 1 viper fitted for 299 is this likely to be the 480:wonder: Jesus H 23 December 2007, 17:41 yeah ash1 01 January 2008, 15:45 Viper 480XV - Thatcham Category 1 Alarm System - Dynamic Sounds UK (http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/viper-480xv-thatcham-category-alarm-system-p-1174.html) Jesus H 01 January 2008, 18:02 yeah + fitting. no warranty and no thatcham approval ash1 02 January 2008, 08:35 you can get thatcham approved installer to fit hence maintaining warranty. Jesus H 02 January 2008, 16:22 you can get thatcham approved installer to fit hence maintaining warranty. no such thing as a thatcham approved installer..... Warranty can only be included if the alarm is installed by a Directed Approved Installer. ash1 04 January 2008, 00:22 ok, also realised that these things can take 3-4 hours to install, which at say £40 an hour makes no sense to buy seperately. The Rig 04 January 2008, 11:41 i paid 380 to get mine fully installed, that was including the extra centrallocking solenoid that was needed. that was nearly 2 yrs ago when the alarm was fairly new to the market. |
