I am selling my STI Version 5 Type R as I have just bought a '06 Spec C and will now (very reluctantly) have to move it on, after 6 great years of massive fun & trouble free motoring.

Details can be found at:
Subaru : WRX STI Version 5 Type R (http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/305375.htm)

and more pictures of the car are at;
blindsideblue - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v480/blindsideblue/)

Serious enquiries only please. Thanks for looking.

Did you / do you work in Lisburn? Think I recognise your car even with the plate covered. Did it have SIDC stickers on the top corners of the windscreen at one point?

Will pass on details to a colleague wanting a tidy impreza at that sort of money.

Hi tarmac terror,

Yes on both counts, (although I am now a lapsed member of SIDC as this site is much better craic). Much appreciate you passing the details on to your colleague. The price stated is obviously negotiable within reason. Thanks for the post.

Had a guy ring earlier today who rang about the car. Sounded very genuine.

Said he had seen it on here, was very interested and wanted to come up from Newry at 3 this afternoon to view/test drive. I gave him my post code for his satnav & detailed directions to find me. He never showed up and after 2 hours waiting, assuming that he could have got lost, I left messages on his mobile voicemail, but no reply!

What is all that about??
It makes you wonder.............

Text book timewaster, recently selling a car through Auto Trader i must have received 20-30 calls,1 guy came and bought the car.The amount of time I spent sitting waiting on people comming, people phoned about the car from as far as Limerick and Cork who were just going to get flights up at the weekend.Alot from up here werent much better, with these publications they just seem to call for a chat.

Blind Side if I was you try to get a land line telephone number to contact the viewer back on,you never know who's ringing about the car.

Btt for a top car.

Jimmy, Be very careful !!

This exact thing happened to another customer about 4 weeks ago, they turned up alright....in the middle of the night and took the car with them

Luckly the car was recovered with minor damage, Autotrader seems to be like an Argos catalogue for car crooks.

Good luck with the sale, I can also vouch for this being a mint example.

Aye Jonathan that was the first thing that crossed my mind. I have taken some extra precautions, (over and above the usual), for that eventuality. Living a few doors away from the local police station does occasionally have its benefits.....

Thanks for vouching for the condition of the car; coming from you that is praise indeed!

See you soon.

That's why I never give out my home address. Better to meet near home, say a garage, so (a) you can check them out first rather than at home (b) timewasters don't have your address.

Folks, be VERY careful about meeting prospective buyers anywhere you dont know, or is remotely quiet.......there was a spate of vehicle thefts in the Duncrue area over a couple of weeks in the summer.....all allegedly arising from ad in the Autotrader and prospective buyers wanting to meet and buy the car down there.........My advice would be simple, take someone with you any time you go to meet someone you dont know, do it somewhere well lit and with plenty of folk about, and obviously NEVER part with your car when the give you either a cheque or leave "their" car as security.......another scam involved turning up in a stolen car and leaving that as security while they took a never ending "test" drive in your pride and joy ........be careful, not everyones as nice as the folks on here LOL
