Where is it better to stay for the weekend? Seems that the service park is in Swansea but the start, finish, and super stage are all in Cardiff. Will there be much to see in Swansea? That's where I'm leaning towards.

Swansea will be slightly closer to most of the stages. For me once you have seen the service park you have seen it so i wouldn't base my decision purely on that. TBH you won't see much in either city - the action is in the forests:D

Brecon area would be quite central.

Like been said you need to be in the region of the forests for the action ...

We are staying in a place called Llandovery, which is good for Crycan, Epynt or Halfway on Saturday, then Trawscoed or Brechfa on Sunday :)

I think I'm more interested in checking out the Service Park and then hiking around the local area and doing touristy stuff. I've never been to Wales and I'm probably going to bring a friend who is not interested whatsoever in motorsports.

Stay in a travel lodge, walking distance from the Cardiff centre. Its perfect. It has a pub attached that does cheap food and stella.

We are going to have a look around Swansea to see if it maybe better for next year..

Are there stay hotels still available in Cardiff/Swansea area?

You'll not find a much better "hikeing" place than Brecon area. Get the Brecon Beacons National Park visitors guide Brecon Beacons National Park — Brecon Beacons National Park (http://www.breconbeacons.org) tel 01874 4624427 for a list of B&Bs
