Just heard the news that Marcus Gronholm crashed heavily and is out of Rally Ireland :(

Hope its just precautionary and everything is ok. Not the way he'd want to end his career if he can't rally in Wales.

Well done Steve PPP, that info will have spoilt it for a lot of people wanting to watch it tonight without knowing whats gone on today. It shouldn't have such a give-away title to the thread and should warn of a spoiler. Hey Ho

I deliberately didn't go into any other standings/positions but if one of the best rally drivers in the last decade is hospitalised i'd expect most people would consider it important news. Much more so than the result of a single rally.

Apologies to anyone if i've tarnished your enjoyment of the highlights program today.

Disapointing news hope they are both ok and hope they will be able to still start Rally Gb.

Steve, I've edited your post title to take into account that there are many people on here who don't like to hear any news about the rally until they see it on TV.

There is a sticky at the top of the forum that requests that users don't put spoilers into thread titles for this very reason.

Me? I follow it stage by stage and am gutted that Gronholm is out and sincerely hope that he's ok. Look like it'll be going down to the wire in Wales now.

WRC Radio Reporting Kris Meeke problems.

Hi Sal - have since found Pattersons site Rally News - The latest RallyNews On Line (http://www.rallynews.net) has their usual event newsletters and SWRT has some driver comments after morning stages.

Just had a look on the bbc sport pages again and they've updated the original info to say that Gronholms been released from hospital :)

Says he lost conciousness a couple of times after hitting a wall, sounds nasty....

The last i heard was there was some damage to the roll cage. So he won't be completing the rally.

Has Loeb gone off in stage 13? Just heard the leaderboard on the radio and it didn't mention him in the top 10. Missed the first bit......
