Been using auto glym shampoo conditioner to wash the car but i have been using every day washing up liquid on the alloys as they seem to wash up better. Is this ok to use on the alloys gold 2004 sti type ones or can you recommend some thing better

When you've finished cleaning then I would recommend some Poorboy's Wheel Sealant (http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb142wheels.html)

managed to blag a detail from my mate and used that on the wheels, really good for shifting future dirt.

That reminds me, Im sure he owes me another details for the H&S backbox ;)

i don,t know if you can still get it but stardrops works wonders on alloys. i even once washed the whole car (my old rover 220 turbo) with it and the result was amazing - just needed another coat of wax afterwards as the stardrops stripped everything off the paint.

Menzerna Gel 7.5 Wheel & Tyre Cleaner would be a better bet, as washing up liquid is usually quite alkaline and full of salts, so not ideal for gentle care. :)
