OK, even as a fairly competent photographer, the choice of lenses is a little bewildering at times! What I would like is a decent wide angle lense to use with my Canon 350D.
I'm not looking to spend a fortune (reckon on between £200 and £400), so some of the Sigma lenses look like a sensible choice. Also willing to consider second hand aswell.

Christopher I'm shocked, surely it's lens not lense? Did you type that before you had your coffee this morning? ;) :D

How wide angle?
Wider than the 18-55 'kit' lens?
I would suggest the Sigma 10-20 or the Tamron 11-18. The Sigma has a bit more at both ends. I have one and am quite pleased with it, although don't use it as often as I should. I've found mine to have a pleasing solid feel, with quiet focussing and quite good in low light conditions.

Sorry Sal - not enough coffee this morning! I was looking at it thinking - that isn't right! :)
Thanks Pumpkin - yes I was thinking about going under the normal kit lens.

Hi Chris & Sal
How about this EF-S 10-22 (http://www.digitaldepot.co.uk/Lenses-Canon_Lenses/c5_137/p1243/Canon_EFS_10-22mm_f/3.5-4.5_USM%3Cbr%3EClaim_%A355_Cashback/product_info.html)
With the cash back slightly over budget, but Canon and EF-S

Try emailing Kerso for a Canon EF 10-22 - excellent prices and you will still get the Canon £55 rebate: kerso1123@msn.com
Buying the Sigma is a false economy IMO, because the Canon lens will have a much better residual value. :)
