Further to my thread on pricing off decking the project is now well under way !! am now just looking for ideas on lighting suggestions for the whole decking area, the decking - triangular shaped 12 foot by 12 foot area is placed at the bottom corner off the garden so the area is very dark at night so looking for lighting ideas for both looks and obviously for practcal use.
options are
1/ have a garden spot shining up from the grass area in front off the decking to light up the whole area ??
2/ flush ligh fittings set within the actual decking / steps ??
any other ideas that I could go for ??

Another option is some nice stainless steel post lights. You can get some really stylish slim one's these days

shows the steps, contours and lights the deck. Had them fitted at same time, so no idea of cost. But they have a timer too, for 4hrs, 8hrs, dusk til dawn, on, off.
If i remember i'll get a photo.

Yep any photos off any installations would be great folks, thinking about mini leds on the steps one either side off each tread and either have a spotlap within the grass area in front off the decking lighting up the whole area or maybe these flush fitting decking lights placed around the actually deck area.
as I say any finished photos would be off great help.
cheers

i put mini decklights on the edges of steps (micromark kit, so fairly cheap). all connected to sockets in an IP rated box and operated by remote control (same remote operates lamps, router, switch in data cabinet etc around the house)

The pics were useless. Could not capture the same lighting effect. Guess i need to practise with the camera.:Whatever_

Gaz, switch the flash off, set it up so you don't touch it (tripod or propped up), then set it to self-timer. Usually get nice night shots like that.

Thanks B, i'll try that, don't think i have a tripod, but i know what you're saying.
Typically, the day after i took the pics, one of the leds went.
