had a new system fitted last july everythin has been fine, yesterday had a patio door fitted in the rear wall onto the back garden, never noticed till after the guys were away the heating was switched off, which is odd.turned it on and it started making strange noises so called the installer,he asked what the pressure was,it was 0.he came out refilled and did some other stuff and it worked, today i came home from work and it was back at 0 again, now back to the patio doors. On the rear wall just under where the new doors were cut in there is a pipe on the wall that is now leaking, heating engineer asid that was the problem and thinks the installers damaged the pipe realising what they did switched it off at the wall and are denying any responsibility but im still out of pocket for the heating engineer, everything seems ok now but do i have any comeback against the window fitters?

Of course you do, were they a small company ie just a self employed outfit or were they just fitters for a large company like Safestyle etc. Did you pay them by cheque, if so threaten to cancel the cheque. They should have public liability insurance for this kind of thing. If a large company then phone someone high up within the company and complain.

Don't let them get away with it, cowboys...

i bleed my combi system rads BUT the boiler will need topping up if air is released from rads.
(note/ this is what i do, i'm not saying its the correct way of doing it but it works for me !!)
