Looking at getting one or the other to aid getting better results from cleaning my car.

The UDM is more powerful, and thus capable of doing more correction work on harder paints (like that found on Subarus). However, the UDM doesn't feel as well made as the PC in my opinion. There is a third option you may be interested in. Meguiars are releasing their dual action unit at the start of the new year, and it will be a fully CE certified 230V CNC machines unit with a carry case and full 1 year UK warranty. First impressions in the US have been very good, with many users rating the machine as being better than either the UDM or PC. Might be worth waiting! Here's a link to info on the US version, the UK version will be the same but specced to 220-230V...

Having read up about and seen the results of PC use when I joined "detailing world" I bought the PC from Autopia in August 2006 and have been happy with its results on my Civic Type R and now the STI

I guess its down to:

How quickly you want to use one?
What price you want to pay?
Do you want a 110v with the US plug cut off?
UK supplied with warranty?

If you try "DW" you may find a local memeber or 2 that own each type and can offer opinions or a demo for you

It took me about 60 seconds to go through the clear coat on my brothers new RR Sport, doh! :rolleyes::lol1:

60 seconds for clear coat failure? That's pretty slow, you obviously weren't trying hard enough! :lol:
