Spent a nice weekend in the N.Wales hills round Snowdon, the light was poor all day Saturday, Sunday dawned clear and bright but the cloud soon came in, leaving everywhere Grey and flat... Did the best I could...

Nice pics, one question how many times did the train go up and down the track or did you have to follow it.

It was a photo charter weekend, so at each location we had four or more run pasts, then we went by bus to the next location and did the same again. However we did have a friend with a van and so myself and one other guy used the van to chase the train between locations, so got shots that other photographers did not get. The train can only do 20MPH at the most, but even so it was hard to keep up at times, should have been in the Forester XT!!!

Some lovely examples of Railway photography, I particularly like "Palmerston on the lower S bends Sunday" and "Palmerston lower S bends. Saturday", the vehicle and run down building really enhance the vista, a shame about the other photographers in "A burst of sunlight on Saturday afternoon. Upper S bend" otherwise a classic steam picture. I used to live very close to a high speed stretch of the GNER and used to take the odd train photo when I was younger and had seen a couple of trains on here over the months, an interesting subject to photograph IMHO and not just the realm of spotters, if you get the right locomotive in the right setting, as the above photo's prove.
