You can probably guess that I'm no budding mechanic. Got a 99 UK car and just need to change the headlight bulbs. How do you get the bulbs out?

Cheers in advance. :thumb:

You need small hands, and/or a lot of dexterity.

Grip the rubber connector behind the bulb, squeeze the sides in and pull it off backwards. It will bring the three pin connector with it.

Looking at the bulb fitment, there are wire springs that pivot at one end, and catch under a hooked part of the headlight at the other. Push the hook end down, swing to one side and it pivots upwards. The bulb is now free to lift out.

Replacement is a direct reverse of removal, as Haynes would say, but take note of the following:

Ensure bulb is fitted properly. It should seat square. If in doubt, look how old one fits before removing it. Failure to seat it properly will lead to beam problems and disappointment with new bulbs.

DO NOT touch glass of new bulbs.
