View Full Version : Bargain Leathers?

Just about to buy my first set of leathers.

Given that I plan to do track days occasionally, ride primarily in dry weather, and keep using the scooter for 90% of commuting, I decided to get a one-piece suit for the ducati, and an armoured all-weather jacket for the scooter (which has leg covers).

I assume this is the time of year to start getting bargains on leathers?

I tried on a set of Dainese Nitro GP at lunch time today, £700, and then found a set on sale in my size and colour at a store not too far away for £389!!

I am assuming this is a very good deal and I should snap it up, or is it possible to get even bigger discounts later in the year?

thanks

That's pretty good, in fact I'd say excellent, for Dainese kit.

If you're not so worried about style, though, pop down to your local Hein Gericke. Their own leathers are fabulous value and certainly work well when you need them...

It must be my lucky day. I've just found exactly the same set, size and colour, worn a handful of times and as new, for £300.

Worth paying the extra £89 for a reciept and to know you're the first to wear them?? Anyone ever needed to take the leathers back to the shop for quality reasons?

Not Dainese, no.

Looks like you lived well in an earlier life. :)

I think I'm gonna pay the extra and get the shop-bought new ones, for the sake of 89 squids it will be nice to know nobody else has sweat in em :)

Just gotta decide on boots now!

What you mean Si? You mean I'm tight? :)

a triumph of marketing and fashion over function and protection:lol1:

Crashed in RST's 3 times and they have held up well, seen the "top" brands come aparet at 20mph.

Don't believ the hype:eek2:

I have been using dainese protection for almost a decade for dh mountainbiking, and they have stood up to much worse treatment than 90% of bike leathers ever see ;)

They looked very well made to me, and for £389 instead of £700 I can't really complain!!!

not having a dig fella, just my opinion, the price is great don't get me wrong, but butt surfing tarmac at 90mph is utterly relevant to motorbikes, mountaining biking requirements/incidents aren't in the same league, no disrespect but its not.

p.s diansneezy do manage to look good:)
